TAKARA MICROMAN BATMAN (kinda-sorta review)

[White Line Nightmare]

A week after placing the order, I received my Takara Batman figure this afternoon.

Ever since I was a kid, I've had two dream figures:

-1:18 scale Batman with "GI Joe articulation."
-1:18 scale Spider-Man with "GI Joe articulation."

Luckily enough for me, 2004 will be the year Takara releases both, but even better... Microman figures easily sport double the articulation of GI Joes.

Since my digicam is outta batteries for the time being, here're some official pics from Takara:

-The figure is molded in a darker silvery-grey plastic, and the blue is a nice shade of navy, almost black. The painted muscle highlights aren't nearly as distracting in person and look kinda nice.

-The utility belt is a separate piece and fits between the waist and lower torso pieces.

-The cape is hard plastic, but I'll probably switch it out for a cloth one when I do my Microman Batman custom.

I haven't been able to fritz around with the accessories too much, but I can't keep away from the figure-- it demands to be posed and messed with.

Overall, it's a great toy. If you're a Batman collector and you haven't ordered yours yet, do yourself a favor and do so.
